Improver on the level converter

Playtomic 2.5: the plan appears

A 2.5 knows the net is where points are won and goes there. The lob comes out when things go wrong, the bandeja exists without always landing, and most points are lost to where you stand rather than what you hit.

What a 2.5 does

  • Moves to the net behind a good lob
  • Lobs when pinned at the back
  • Tries a bandeja on a high ball instead of letting it pass

What a 2.5 does not do yet

  • Keep the right distance from the net: too close, and every lob beats them
  • Stay level with a partner
  • Move again after hitting the ball

What to work on next

Positioning as a pair: the distance from the net, the distance from your partner, and the step after every shot. Padel positioning: where to stand, and when to move.

On the other scales

The converter files 2.5 under Improver: consistent rallies, basic positioning, the odd lob and volley on purpose. That reads as MATCHi 4 and LTA 3.0; Padel Mates uses the same 0 to 7 numbers as Playtomic. None of it is official, and the bands hold to about half a point. Convert any number.

How the number moves

Beat a pair rated above you and you jump; lose to a pair rated below you and you fall. Matches entered as friendly do not count. More than ten unforced errors in a set puts a player at 2.5 or under. The long version is in padel levels explained.

Test it

In Padel: The Game a 2.5 meets the 1200 PELO pair, Lucía and Marc (club). Solid club pair. Patient, they find your feet when you are deep.

The daily Scenario is filed by level, and the intermediate ones are the fair test at 2.5. One from the bank:
