Privacy and cookies

Short version: you do not need an account, and without one your results stay on your own device.

If you sign in

Signing in with Google is optional; everything on the site works without it. If you do, Google tells us your name, your picture and your email address, and nothing else. We store those, the day you first signed in, and the same saved state your browser already holds (your puzzle days and streak, your ratings, the levels and badges from the game, your locker). We use the email to sign you in and, only if you leave the box ticked, to send one short reminder when you have missed a day, never more than one and never two days running; every email has a one-tap unsubscribe. The data lives in Cloudflare's storage in the EU and US regions Cloudflare uses, behind a signed session cookie that only this site can read. We never sell it, share it, or use it for advertising. Delete your account on your account page and every record is removed at once; that is the whole of it.

If you buy something

Pro, the Playbook and the Progress Tracker are sold by Paddle.com, our online reseller and merchant of record. Paddle takes the payment and your billing details under its own privacy notice; we never see your card. Paddle tells us only what was bought and, if you were signed in, by which Google account, so the purchase unlocks on every device you sign in on. Bought without signing in? Your browser keeps the transaction number, and the purchase joins your account the next time you sign in.

What we store on your device

Your streak, how many puzzles you have played and your light or dark preference are saved in your browser's local storage. That data stays in your browser. It is not sent to us, it is not attached to any identity, and clearing your browser data deletes it permanently.

Advertising

This site is free because it carries advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. For opting out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising, see aboutads.info/choices. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent choice before any personalised advertising or non-essential cookies are used, and that choice can be changed at any time from the consent link in the footer of the ad frame.

Analytics

We use a privacy-respecting analytics tool that counts page views without cookies and without tracking individuals across sites.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
